Mechanical Test

Tensile Test

A tensile test, also known as a tension or tensile strength test, is designed to identify various properties of a material under a pulling force. This widely used procedure evaluates whether a material meets required specifications and examines its performance. Tensile tests can be conducted under various conditions, including indoor, high-temperature, and low-temperature testing.

Low-temperature tests assess material brittleness, strength, and plasticity at low temperatures, while high-temperature tests determine material failure points at elevated temperatures. At Om Metalab Services Pvt. Ltd., we conduct tensile tests in accordance with industry standards and guidelines, including ASTM and ISO procedures. We test the tensile strength of various materials, particularly metals.

Our test report provides a comprehensive set of parameters, including but not limited to:

  • Elastic limit
  • Elongation (∆L)
  • Elasticity modulus
  • Tensile modulus
  • Proportional limit
  • Shrinkage of area
  • Tensile strength
  • Yield point
  • Yield strength
  • Ductility
